How To Feel An Enlarged Uterus

Compassion ... Bodhisattva ... Dialogue and Sharing

Kuan Yin Bodhisattva Bodhisattva female
Called "the thousand hands, with a thousand eyes"

Guanyin - Kuan Yin - Chinese goddess This is an avatar of the Bodhisattva of the male compassion Avalokiteshvara. This manifestation of the Supreme Buddha (Amitabha) is the most revered in the Buddhist tradition of the Great Vehicle. China considers the popular mythology the goddess Guanyin saving, the Merciful, as an incarnation of yin.

According to the scriptures of the Mahayana is the Bodhisattva of compassion that pushes its own attainment of enlightenment while the deep understanding allows him to transcend the world of fluctuating existence. In other words, the bodhisattva follows a middle road between the solitary peace of non-existence and the perpetual flux of becoming. The first step on the path of the bodhisattva is to "develop motivation heroic." Bodhisattva made a solemn vow to seek total enlightenment in order to liberate all beings from suffering. This vow should be based on a deep compassion and the belief of the utmost importance to dedicate his life to the good of others. He is willing to spend an infinite number of lives, if necessary, to fulfill the wishes of all beings without exception. The Dalai Lama often cites this verse contains the essence of this aspiration:
As long as space endures, As long as there beings, may I too remain To stop the suffering of all.

Student: Rinpoche, you said that compassion was bad for me. Yet Naropa violates our definition of compassion in a thousand ways.

Trungpa Rinpoche
: There are two distinct types of compassion. First, there is real compassion, caring, direct total compassion. Then the other kind of compassion that Mr. Gurjieff called idiot compassion, that compassion to say neurotic, a servile way of trying to satisfy your secret desire. This is your goal, but you as if you were generous and impersonal.

And .: What is the total compassion?

TR. : The total compassion is to see the situation as it is directly and fully. If you must drive, you are, that's all. In other words, compassion silly contains a kind of opium - always try to show good and benevolent - while total compassion is more literal, she sees more, it is more real. You have to hurt someone, even if you do not want him hurt, but to awaken him, he may need to hurt him, do souffrir.C is precisely why the Buddhist tradition does not teach compassion first, the Mahayana, but the Hinayana, the small vehicle. A Hinayana stage, we try to find a balance. It then seeks to exercise compassion, once it has reached equilibrium, built the foundation. It is impossible to work from the outset the total level of compassion. You have to grow, advancing toward her.

And . : I think you mentioned earlier that one of the obstacles to developments in this direction was the need for security. How to get rid of this need?

TR. : In taking note of what needs to be reassured, we must recognize it as an effigy that looks only in one direction without seeing what's around. An effigy with only one side and perhaps even one eye. She does not see around her, she does not see the whole picture. You know what I mean?

And . : The effigy to look only in one direction. Is this the person who needs the reassurance?

TR. : Yes, because the coverage must be attached to this unique situation. Whenever you need to secure, that means you have a fixed idea of what should be. And this is why you set your eyes on one situation, a particular element. Moreover, these situations are not observed because we want to be reassured that we will not consider these situations are a source of paranoia. We would like to be able to cover all the ground, but as it is psychologically impossible, it must try to stick to this single element as much as possible. The need for security has therefore only one eye.

Et : And what is the way to move beyond this vision in one eye?

TR. : Giving birth other eyes instead of employing a radar unidirectional. Nothing forces you to fix your gaze on one thing. You can, instead, to deploy a panoramic vision, see everything around once. [...]
